There is a secret in our culture,

And it's not that childbirth is painful,

It's that women are strong.

I am passionate about pregnancy, birth, and the transformations these bring.  I have always been awed by the magnificent ability women have to perfectly grow, nurture, birth, and care for new life.  Every aspect is truly a Mystery worthy of honor and respect in and of itself.  From conception to postpartum, every aspect of bringing new life to a family and this world amazes me.  I decided to become a doula while I was pregnant, during which time I realized how much information and support a pregnant woman and family needs and how hard it can be to get these things within the traditional maternity system.

You are amazing!  Anyone would be lucky to have you assist them with their birthing experience.  Thank you for you!
- D, natural VBAC

The foundation of my doula practice is my belief in the human body's innate abilities to bring forth life.  Without a perfect womanly body designed to grow, nurture, birth, and care for new life, humans wouldn't be here today.  In conceiving, you, like all mothers before you, are part of the immense chain of wisdom and power that brings life into this world. The human body is an amazing structure, capable of growing life, of nurturing new life with warmth and milk and love, of fixing broken bones and suturing its own wounds, and of doing that most creative and empowering act: bringing a new baby into the world.  Your body is perfect for birth and motherhood. Women's ability to heal and grow and bring life is so remarkable that even after a woman has been through a cesarean section, she is still capable of growing, sustaining, and bringing forth life in the natural way.
